Competence development without the insights to address future challenges leaves many organisations vulnerable to certain demise as international competition becomes as growing challenge. <br \/>\nThose with the insights to the foreseeable future need to contribute to upgrading the education system and organisations competence development to challenge ourselves for what is to come. The issue remains that most courses have become complacent with their own standards, promoting packages that just teach the basics. Without adequate feedback from sponsors or industries to raise these standards we face an uncertain future.<br \/>\nThe old stereotypes can be dismissed as they no longer apply since each job or position will have added demands as the work force shrinks, regulations get tighter, and expectations are raised. A new culture is needed to accommodate the aging work force that can appreciate their attributes and skills.
