The theory of everything – Analysis

Click here to listen to this introduction

Garbage in, garbage out might be an understatement
when scaled and exaggerated in poor systems and cultures!
A little analysis still goes a long way, with more opportunities
for better insights, decisions and directions!

It might come as a shock to many to realise that our analytical skills are seriously limited and desperately needs to evolve. Analysis techniques and the processes around it have also become liabilities when timing is and accuracy is critical. We have become complacent in our own worlds with growing dependencies on technological advances (pursuing instant gratification) to produce poor attention spans and focus (dementia risk).
We should expect more when emerging technologies propel our capabilities with increased connectivity and the flood of available data.
3 exabytes of info processed in most social media’s daily, 100’s of terabytes of data /online library, Billions of mobiles users and numerous devices all merging for real time analysis techniques, like predictive analysis with AI in big data, data mining, semantic web and machine learning. This connectivity reduces our degrees of separation while opportunities are raised for $billions/industry and Governments that ventures to utilise this potential with an augmented intelligence.
The Internet of Things, IoT like many innovations exponentially generates more data to adopt the latest analytical practices that have to evolve further. Each builds more algorithms to predict our interest, next move, decision influencing factors to encroach further into our privacy while limiting options. Quantum, cognitive and neuromorphic computers will no doubt make short work of these tasks along with all the innovations that continue to sprout.
The challenge for us is not to remain stuck in routines, but strive to develop further to analyse, synthesis and make better decisions.
This article builds on the mindset from “Original thought” to explore the boundaries and evolve with our analytical skills in the following:

  • Trouble shooting
  • Models
  • Synthesis
